/ About Us
New To You Markets, originally established as The Melbourne Frock Swap started life in Melbourne’s western suburbs in 2014.
When Jane Hoiting took ownership of the market in 2017, her passion for all things pre-loved, combined with an event management/event promotion background, took New To You to the next level in market organisation and management.
And here I come, Lauren Hodgson, Melbourne mother of two young energetic boys and wife to a patient “Ragtrader” husband. I’m a local, wine-loving and slightly unconventional businesswomen who is a proven shopaholic, social engager and over the top entertainer.
Most of all, I love all things fashion related. I like nice things nearly as much as I love a bargain!! Cheap clothing that falls apart and goes to landfill really annoys me, as do exorbitant retail mark-ups, false “discounting” sales and the lack of transparency/greenwashing in the fashion industry.
After shopping the market from day one and finding my favourite handbag and blazer, I was excited to be able to take the business on a new journey when it became available.
So, New To You now allows me to create an authentic shopping experiences for everyone, bullsh*t free and bargains guaranteed!
I’m also pleased to announce New To You Markets won’t stop at preloved fashion markets, we have plans to expand into local designer and ethical fashion markets, however the backbone will always remain sustainability, authenticity and product lifecycle value.
By the way, make sure you subscribe to our newsletter and follow our socials so you can keep up to date with new venues and events as we share this great shopping experience with you all.
